Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki chicken


1)  1 boneless chicken thighs
2)  2 tbsp mirin
3)  2 tbsp soy sauce
4). 1 tbsp sugar
5). 2 tbsp sake (optional)


1)  Trim off any excess fat from the chicken thigh.
2)  Combine mirin and soy sauce and set aside.
3)  Heat a non-stick frying pan until very hot.  Place chicken skin-side down and fry over medium heat until skin starts to crisp and turn golden brown.

4)  Turn chicken over and cook the other side until brown.

5)  When the meat is cooked, pour sauce over it. 

6)  Turn chicken repeatedly to develop the flavour.
7)  Remove chicken from the pan once sauce thickens. 
8)  Cut chicken into easy to eat pieces. 
9)  Add mushroom, red bell peppers or broccoli if you want.

You can cook vegetables together with the chicken and sauce.
