Healthy Blanched Spinach

This is a healthy way of cooking spinach as no oil is used.


1)  280 g of spinach (Remove roots)
2)  1/2 tsp salt
3)  1 Tbsp dashi stock
4)  2 tsp soy sauce


1)  Bring a pot of water to boil.  Add salt and gently slide spinach in, leaves first.  Blanch for about 3 minutes.
2)  Remove spinach from the water and immediately place it into a bowl of cold water.  Change the water about 3 times to cool it.  Let spinach soak in water for 5 minutes.
3)  Remove spinach from the water, lay it neatly on cutting board and press down to remove water.     Cut spinach into sections of about 5 cm and arrange on a dish.
4)  Mix dashi stock and soy sauce.  Pour it over spinach.
