Shrimp Toast 虾吐司


In Korean cooking show, one popular Chinese dish the chef would made is deep fried shrimp toast.  The shrimp toasts, based on the show, are not difficult to made. The end product are mouth-watering, crunchy shrimp toasts.

It is not time consuming if you use a food processor.  I do not have any food processor, so I have to use the primitive method, smash prawns with knife, to mince the prawns.


Ingredients

1. 250g prawn
2. 1/3 carrot (diced)
4. some cilantro (chopped)
5. 1/2 tsp salt
6. 1 tbsp cornstarch
7. 1 egg white
8. dash of pepper
9. sesame seeds
10.  6 to 7 slices of bread

Method

1.  Deshelled and devined prawns and minced them.
2.  Add carrots, cilantro, salt, pepper, egg white and cornstarch and mix well.
3.  Remove the crust of the bread and cut the bread into 4 equal pieces (square or triangle).
4.  Spread minced prawns onto bread.
5.  Sprinkle some sesame seed if you want.
6.  Deep fried until golden brown or bake in oven.
