I am.....The largest Rainbow Cake ever
Haji Lane, a place I like to go. There are so many interesting shops. The clothes sold are always fashionable and edgy. Anyway, I went to this cafe (Halal) 'I Am', which served European inspired cuisine. I later realised that the 'Am' actually stands for Amsterdam. You cannot miss this café as it is located at the entrance of Haji Lane.
The cafe has an open concept kitchen and is also rather small. A few tables are placed across the narrow lane. The black and white mural on the wall, which I mistaken as wall paper at first, were beautifully painted. I can't help it, but admiring it.
The staff were attentive and friendly. I went there with my family at night. It was crowded but we managed to get a table along the road. Actually I wanted to go to other cafes as I don't like the idea of sitting along the road. However the staff was attentive enough to lead us to a vacant table in the café immediately after a group of customers left. While waiting for our orders, a staff started to serve a slice of rainbow cake with a lighted candle to another table. It turned out that it was the birthday of one of the customers. The staff started to sing the birthday song as they served the cake. And of course I joined in the fun and sang along.
As for the food wise, I only managed to try the large rainbow cake. In fact I wanted to try other cakes but all of them were so huge and I was sure my family and I couldn't finish them. 1 slice of the cake is actually enough for 3 to 4 persons. The cake is delightful and fluffy and we like the cheese cream.
